Jared Padalecki shared his thoughts on the unexpectedly ‘terrifying’ venture of joining The Boys season 5. He’s unsure about the chances of a reunion with his former Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles.

“I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is effing terrifying,” Padalecki confessed to Business Insider regarding the Prime Video series’ conclusive season, currently in production.

This uncertainty also applies to any potential scenes with Jensen Ackles. Ackles, anticipated to return as Soldier Boy following the retrieval of his character at the end of season 4, starred alongside Padalecki in Supernatural for 15 remarkable seasons portraying the supernatural hunters, Dean and Sam Winchester.

“I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we like, bump into each other. I don’t know much about it,” Padalecki admitted. “They’re still in the process of writing and figuring out who’s going to be there. But it should be sorted by the end of this month,” he added.

Regardless, The Boys continues to serve as a Supernatural reunion. Both series are creations of Eric Kripke, and other Supernatural alumni have appeared in The Boys before, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Whatever the outcome in the upcoming The Boys season 5—set as the show’s finale—it won’t mark the end of Soldier Boy. He is set to appear in Vought Rising, a prequel series, which Kripke claims is Garth Ennis‘ “favorite” collaboration. Aya Cash, known for her role as Stormfront in season two, is also set to return.
