It seems we haven’t seen the final act of Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), according to recent insights shared by Elizabeth Olsen. The star, who was last sighted in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, left fans in suspense about Wanda Maximoff’s destiny.
While promoting her latest project, The Assessment, Olsen reflected on her MCU journey, hinting at more appearances. Speaking with Collider, she described playing Wanda for over a decade as “really unusual” and akin to the experience actors have with long-running TV shows.
“To revisit a character and advance them has been incredibly enjoyable for me,” Olsen noted, adding that projects like WandaVision allowed her to “really blow it all up.” From there, she remarked, Doctor Strange took an “exciting and chaotic” direction.
Olsen expressed gratitude for portraying the character over a significant period: “I feel very fortunate to have inhabited this role for over 10 years, and I am eager to continue. However, animation feels like an alternate universe that I can barely connect to our work. Yet, playing her over the years remains a privilege,” she shared.
Elizabeth Olsen debuted as Wanda Maximoff in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and continued in roles throughout Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Her breakout solo moment came with the 2021 hit WandaVision on Disney Plus, marking her official transformation into Scarlet Witch.
Following the uncertain conclusion of Doctor Strange’s sequel, fans are left to speculate about her return, unsure if she will re-enter the conversation with the Avengers. Enthusiasts believe Scarlet Witch will reemerge in the MCU.
Looking ahead, the next chapter for the MCU is Thunderbolts, hitting theaters on May 2, concluding Marvel Phase 5. Until then, you can explore more exciting superhero films coming in 2025 and beyond.
