Ubisoft has finally unleashed its much-anticipated action RPG, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, delivering an exhilarating experience as evidenced by its impressive player count on Steam. It’s already breaking records set by previous entries in the series, showcasing its impactful launch.
With an overall “Very Positive” review standing on Steam, Assassin’s Creed Shadows not only receives stellar feedback but also displays a breathtaking player engagement. Shortly after its debut, it peaked with a remarkable 28,620 players. This achievement puts it ahead of other titles in the franchise, firmly establishing its popularity.
Consider this: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla noted a peak of just 15,431 players back in December 2022, falling a significant 13,189 short compared to Shadows’ debut milestone. Similarly, Assassin’s Creed Mirage registered 7,837 players at its height, a stark 20,783 less than Shadows.
The path to surpassing the champions like Origins and Odyssey remains, however. Assassin’s Creed Origins reached an all-time high of 41,541 simultaneous players, while Assassin’s Creed Odyssey‘s peak was an impressive 61,984 players, 33,364 more than Shadows’ opening tally. Nonetheless, this doesn’t diminish Shadows’ potential to outshine its predecessors, given the tremendous start and the game’s capacity to “thrive on boldness,” as highlighted in our own review.
