Ubisoft unleashed its much-anticipated action RPG, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it’s already taking the gaming world by storm. The player count on Steam is soaring, challenging records set by previous series entries.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has garnered “Very Positive” reviews on Steam, with an astounding 28,620 players diving in shortly after its release. This remarkable feat has left other titles in the series trailing behind.

To illustrate, look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which peaked at 15,431 concurrent players in December 2022. That’s a staggering 13,189 fewer players than Shadows’ launch day. Similarly, Assassin’s Creed Mirage only reached a peak of 7,837 players. The latest addition to the franchise still faces a climb to surpass entries like Odyssey and Origins.

Consider Assassin’s Creed Origins, with its all-time peak of 41,541 players, and Odyssey, which boasts a record of 61,984 users—33,364 more than Shadows has currently attracted. However, as noted in our Assassin’s Creed Shadows review, this daring new game has the potential to surpass these champions.

If you’re eager for more after exploring Shadows, there are some stellar Assassin’s Creed games waiting to captivate you. Keep up with weekly digests and tales from the communities you adore.
