Assassin’s Creed Shadows is already making waves, outperforming some of its acclaimed RPG predecessors. In under a day, this thrilling adventure set in Feudal Japan attracted over a million players. As the weekend dawns, these milestones continue to soar. Ubisoft has proudly announced that over two million enthusiasts have plunged into the universe of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, all within just two days after its release.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone,” the publisher shared in a new social media post. “Assassin’s Creed Shadows has now surpassed the launches of AC Origins and Odyssey. Thank you for embarking on this journey in Feudal Japan!”

Currently, it remains unclear if Shadows has outsold the initial sales figures of Origins and Odyssey within the first two days or simply gathered more players in the same timeframe. Nonetheless, it promises to be a monumental success. The only title it seemingly trails is Valhalla, which remains the pinnacle of the series, largely due to its launch alongside new next-gen consoles.

Shadows is eyeing at least one series record, though. At this moment, over 58,000 players are delving into Assassin’s Creed Shadows simultaneously on Steam, marking the second-highest player peak in the series’ history, and that’s poised to surpass AC Odyssey soon.

According to the game’s developers, “it’s not a documentary,” and Ubisoft isn’t attempting to represent Japan from a strictly clinical or stereotypical standpoint. For more insightful updates, explore our weekly digests and stories from the communities you cherish.
