BioWare has breathed new life into Dragon Age: The Veilguard unexpectedly.
After the previous patch, it seemed like the renowned RPG creators were ready to move on. The patch suggested that future updates would only address major issues. However, much to everyone’s astonishment, BioWare has just rolled out a new update for the PC edition, introducing a weapon pack.
The Rooks Weapons Appearance Pack adds new cosmetic items and is available for free on the Steam version of the game. Still, it comes alongside a tempting 50% discount, dropping the price to $32/£25. To grab this pack, you’ll need to own the game or purchase it before April 8. There’s no news yet on its availability for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Although it’s just a few weapons, any fresh Veilguard content seems almost miraculous given the myriad of challenges the developers faced post-launch.
After the game’s release, EA announced that the fourth Dragon Age installment had fallen short of its sales target by 50%. In response, EA reduced the BioWare workforce, reassigned developers to other projects, and declared that the next Mass Effect would be the team’s primary focus. This left the fan community’s hopes for more substantial updates hanging by a thread.
To underscore the situation, Dragon Age: The Veilguard was offered to millions of PlayStation Plus subscribers as a complimentary monthly game.
