In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are countless objectives to tackle, areas to discover, and locations to unlock. However, two things have steered my journey: drip and decor. Nothing propels me more than seeking out the finest swag, from stunning armor pieces for Naoe and Yasuke, to dazzling weapons, and elegant tea sets or paintings for my base display. My time in the RPG has largely been defined by this quest for treasures. My path often depends on where the most alluring loot resides or which goals promise the most coveted rewards.
As I delve deeper, I’ve realized that the myriad customization options to decorate your base are pivotal in shaping how I explore the expansive open-world. Customization has always been my forte, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows delivers in abundance—whether it’s creating outfits for shinobi and samurai or designing a home base. The dream comes alive with Sims-like building elements, allowing me to effortlessly arrange rooms in feudal Japan. From setting up a tea room to crafting a study or forge, carving out my own space is creatively fulfilling.
But home isn’t truly home without treasured possessions that reflect my adventures as Yasuke or Naoe, adding personal touches. I’m thrilled that each constructed room features station sets, letting me choose decorative items like weapon displays, trinket shelves, or walls to hang paintings. Discovering room layouts inspired me to venture further into the world, seeking items that would enliven my base with color and personality.
One delightful pastime is sneaking up on animals to sketch them in the open-world, encouraging me to appreciate the world’s fauna. This artistic endeavor results in unlockable ink paintings to adorn my base’s walls. I now prioritize visiting sketch locations during my travels, amassing a collection that enhances my tea room, reflecting journeys and sights I’ve experienced.
Shadows’ transmog feature intensifies my passion for fashionable armor and weapons. With numerous outfits and weapon types for both Yasuke and Naoe, the transmog allows me to enjoy preferred styles without sacrificing stats. Unlike other RPGs, this game’s transmog feature excels, offering cosmetic flexibility for gear, down to the katana or tanto details.
In a meticulously designed open-world, Shadows pays attention to the nuances of weapon and armor designs, with intricate patterns and embroidered materials making outfits stand out. The transmog feature maximizes these design elements.
To acquire more striking designs, I’ve been exploring castles, sneakily or aggressively, to unlock chests with legendary gear by defeating daisho enemies. The map reveals the gear, and targeting specific castles has become a strategy to acquire exquisite armor like a black ensemble with gold embroidery for Naoe, adding to my collection and fueling my drive for more discoveries.
The extensive customization in Assassin’s Creed Shadows has profoundly influenced my adventure across the vast world. Who knows what fashionable find I’ll claim next, but expect stylish ornaments in my base and trendier looks for Yasuke and Naoe in the near future.
