An unedited fight scene from DC’s discarded Batgirl movie has surfaced online, showcasing Barbara Gordon in a combat mode reminiscent of Daredevil.

The clip, shared by DC Film News on Twitter, features Leslie Grace as she confronts a group of criminals in a shadowy room. Despite being thrown around, she stands resilient against her much tougher foes. The video adds humor to the action, as Batgirl inadvertently breaks into a bathroom where a startled man is caught off guard. Watch the clip here.

This behind-the-scenes look at the fight choreography for ‘BATGIRL‘ includes talents such as Emely Cartagena, Scott Rogers, and Stephen Dunlevy.

Despite showing harness cables, this scene hints at what DC could have delivered had the Batgirl movie not been shelved nearly three years ago. Fans, more eager than ever, expressed their thoughts, with one saying the “Fights actually look believable,” while another exclaimed, “Wait a minute, this kinda fire.”

The film inspired by the DC comic book character Barbara Gordon began development in 2017. The journey wasn’t smooth, facing script rewrites in 2018 and a director switch in 2021. In a blow to fans, Batgirl was axed in August 2022 due to financial constraints, despite being “literally completely finished” with all VFX complete, according to a cast member.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah helmed the movie, meant to depict the dual life of the young vigilante and the daughter of Gotham City’s police commissioner, James Gordon. Stars like J. K. Simmons, Jacob Scipio, Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton, and Ivory Aquino were lined up to join the action.
