Warning: This article contains spoilers from Daredevil: Born Again episode 6.

Daredevil: Born Again unveiled two contrasting episodes this week, with the latter standing out for its unsettling intensity. It offered a haunting portrayal of Muse and his appalling street art, as the serial killer claimed additional victims on the bustling streets of New York City.

One particularly spine-chilling scene unfolds as two young women encounter Muse engrossed in his grim art. They approach curiously, asking, “Hey, are you Muse? Is it cool if we take a picture with you?” Moments later, Muse assaults them, and the terrifying aftermath is revealed later in the episode—their eyes gouged out and bodies positioned near his artwork. A horrifying sight!

This shocking moment was adapted directly from Charles Soules’ run of the Daredevil comics. While there are slight alterations, such as the iconic landmark featured in the art—the Statue of Liberty in the show rather than Punisher in the comics—the homage to the original material is unmistakable.

It’s crucial to note that the comic book version also ends fatally for the women… Drawing inspiration from panels is not new for this Marvel series, as illustrated by the scenes shared on the official Daredevil Instagram. Among these is a plot where Foggy fakes his death, lifted from 1998’s Daredevil #82, sparking all manner of fan theories.
