The First Berserker: Khazan has already managed to capture attention with glowing reviews. Currently, the game holds an 80 on Metacritic, and the PC version slightly outshines others with a score of 83. This anticipated release by Nexon is right on trend with the industry’s ‘pay more to play it early’ strategy, effectively setting its unofficial launch on March 24. The complete release is set for this Thursday, March 27.

Despite not being fully launched, this hardcore Soulslike RPG is thriving, showcasing its popularity with almost 1,500 reviews on Steam. Garnering a ‘Very Positive’ rating, the game impresses a remarkable 94% of users. Notably, top reviews highlight the commendable inclusion of an easy mode, sparking discussion amongst the Soulslike enthusiasts, while others cherish its challenging difficulty. The game’s stable performance has also been a relief, especially when compared to recent PC disappointments like Monster Hunter Wilds.

However, not all feedback is glowing. A particular negative review pointed out, “Do you like variety in weapons or enemies? Well, look elsewhere. 5 hours in and it’s the same 4 enemies, the bosses… just bigger versions of those enemies.” Interestingly, that reviewer has since played for 10 more hours, suggesting potential future changes of heart. Active in feedback, the game’s developers have been responsive to criticisms, addressing technical issues among other concerns.

The developers likely find comfort in the praise for the game’s adjustable difficulty, echoing the lead developer’s sentiment: “Games are meant to be engaging, not exhausting.” For more updates, diverse community stories, and insights into your favorite titles, stay connected.
