Atomfall, having captured attention from the onset, earned the nickname ‘British Fallout’. Although it’s a unique entity rather than a simple echo of Fallout, the thrill of exploring a dystopian version of Britain (not to be mistaken for post-2016 Britain) had fans abuzz. According to Rebellion’s latest announcement, Atomfall has attracted 1.5 million players within a week, marking the most successful debut Rebellion has witnessed in its 32-year history.

In a press briefing shared with GamesRadar+, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley expressed, “We are delighted that so many players are enjoying Atomfall,” and remarked on the astonishing milestone: “Surpassing 1 million players so swiftly reflects the inventive spirit and commitment of the whole team at Rebellion. Our stability allows us to venture into creating distinct experiences like Atomfall, and it’s gratifying to see this gamble rewarded.”

The game opened its doors via early access last Monday, March 24, for Deluxe Edition buyers, culminating in an official release by Thursday, March 27. Significantly, for Xbox and PC aficionados, Atomfall debuted on Xbox Game Pass on day one, undeniably boosting its substantial player influx into the post-apocalyptic Lake District.

With its solidly British essence, Atomfall is celebrated with quintessentially British statistics: Over 3.7 million cricket bat kills, alongside the consumption of more than 4 million pasties and 300,000 cups of tea, paint a vivid picture of its culturally aligned gameplay.

On a side note, Kingsley recently commented on the intricacies of managing vast development teams, humorously pondering, “How do you organize a game that has 2,000 people working on it?”
