Both movies are much-anticipated by audiences of all ages, making this collaboration between Warner Bros. and the filmmakers a perfect match.

The feature film adaptation of the popular video game Minecraft first emerged in 2019, navigating through various creative shifts before securing the talents of director Jared Hess and an accomplished team of writers, including Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta. Meanwhile, Superman was reintroduced in 2023 following the decision to halt a follow-up to 2014’s Man of Steel and move on from the DCEU and Snyderverse. Gunn not only directs but also penned the screenplay, promising a notably lighter tone for the franchise.

A Minecraft Movie is set to premiere in theaters on April 4, while Superman will take flight in theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025. If you’re eager for more, explore our list of upcoming movies, or dive into our rundown of exciting video game movie adaptations.
