While Chris Pratt assured that he has his own spot secured in Avengers: Doomsday, a former star from a different iconic superhero team has confirmed her absence in the buildup to the eagerly awaited Marvel film. This week, at CinemaCon, where she promoted her new movie, Crime 101, Halle Berry was asked if, alongside other legendary X-Men actors like Kelsey Grammer (Beast), James Marsden (Cyclops), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), she would reprise her role as Storm. Sadly, she dispelled these rumors.

When BlackGirlNerds inquired about the possibility of seeing Berry in the team, the Academy Award-winning actress humorously remarked, “Keep waiting. It’s not going to be there.” Interestingly, her co-star Chris Hemsworth, known for portraying a weather-wielding superhero in the MCU as Thor, also expressed his disappointment, mirroring the sentiments of many fans. While speaking to Extra TV about this speculation, Hemsworth commented, “I was hoping… I was like, ‘Do you know something I don’t?'”

Even though Berry’s statement is clear, Marvel’s history of secrecy makes us skeptical. Remember, Kevin Feige mentioned that the cast list for the upcoming film is not yet finalized. It’s entirely possible that Storm might make an appearance to assist against the new villain, Doctor Doom, who eerily resembles the late Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Thanks to recent projects like X-Men ’97 and the concluding season of What If…?, where Storm was envisaged as the Goddess of Thunder, her presence in the Marvel universe has only grown.

If Storm doesn’t feature, other X-Men characters might still make their way to the film. Perhaps Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) will appear, potentially explaining Thor’s grief over losing his brother once more. Until Avengers: Doomsday graces theaters on May 1, 2026, fans can explore all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows.
