Following a prolonged four-month hiatus, Lethal Company has regained momentum thanks to its creator, Zeekerss, who found fresh inspiration from playing Repo, an equally quirky multiplayer indie horror game. After immersing themselves in Repo, Zeekerss is now steering efforts towards crafting the next update.

Zeekerss shared, “For the past couple weeks, Repo has been the go-to game for me and my friends,” in a newly accessible Patreon post. A highlight of Repo is its unique mechanic where large items need collaborative efforts to move, creating an experience reminiscent of a moving simulator.

While enthusiastic, Zeekerss also pointed out issues. “Latency makes melee weapons almost impossible to use if you are not the host,” they mentioned. Two potential improvements came to mind: transforming loading screens into interactive experiences where players could drive a truck between destinations, and diversifying travel locales or even allowing players to retain furniture for a more comfortable journey.

By stepping away from personal projects and exploring new ones, artists, like Zeekerss, often rekindle creativity. “Playing Repo has also inspired me to switch back to Lethal,” they confessed. They’ve already started outlining a vision document for V70 of Lethal Company, aiming for an invigorated early access phase. This new zeal, whether seasonal or sparked by changing projects, has them thoroughly energized, though developments will take some time.

In anticipation of the upcoming changes, players should stay tuned. Meanwhile, there’s no shortage of exciting upcoming indie games ready to capture your interest. For regular updates and community insights, explore more through this bundle of indie delights.
