Sony has officially announced the release date for the eagerly awaited sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yotei, slated for this fall on the PS5. After months of speculation, the date is finally set.

In a well-received move, Sony confirmed that Ghost of Yotei will be available on October 2. The excitement doesn’t stop there; along with this announcement, Sony released a link to a captivating trailer showcasing the open-world action-adventure game and introducing the enigmatic Yotei Six – the gang members protagonist Atsu vows to eliminate. Watch the trailer to see these intriguing characters unveiled.

Sony offers an in-depth look into the narrative of the Yotei Six in a recent blog. According to their post, sixteen years prior, in a region known as Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), a band of criminals called the Yotei Six devastated Atsu’s life. “They killed her family and left her pinned to a burning ginkgo tree, presumed dead,” recounts the blog.

Surviving against all odds, Atsu spent years honing her skills for the inevitable showdown. “Prepared for retribution, she’s back in her homeland with a kill list: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito,” Sony narrates her intense journey, spotlighting how she wields the very katana used against her to settle old scores.

But Atsu’s journey isn’t solely about revenge. As the blog reveals, while her quest begins with the intent to avenge, she uncovers deeper dimensions to her adventure. “Throughout Ezo, Atsu encounters unforeseen allies and builds bonds that redefine her mission,” it states, adding layers to her character and narrative.

With pre-orders set to open on May 2, from 10:00 AM in local time zones, anticipation and excitement burgeon among fans eager to dive into this new saga. Learn more about pre-orders to ensure your chance to explore this epic world as early as possible.
