A legendary franchise in cinema is set to make its mark once again with the highly anticipated release of Evil Dead Burn, scheduled for July 24, 2026. This will be the sixth installment in the iconic Evil Dead series, succeeding the 2023 hit, Evil Dead Rise. The film’s director, Sébastien Vaniček, has ambitious plans to deliver an unparalleled experience that will significantly impact audiences.
In an interview with Variety, Vaniček revealed his intense approach to the film, hinting at the horrifying events that await those tempted to explore the dangerous Necronomicon. He sees the 42-year-old franchise as “like a creative playground, a bold laboratory for filmmakers eager to explore something raw, brutal, and deeply transgressive.”
Having already made a name for himself with the chilling debut of Infested, featuring a terrifying spider outbreak in France, Vaniček is poised to take on the challenge of one of horror’s bloodiest classics. He enthusiastically stated, “The ambition remains the same as with Infested: to create a visceral, sensory experience that punches the audience in the gut.” His goal is for viewers to leave the theater feeling physically and emotionally exhausted.
The cast features Souheila Yacoub, known for her role in Dune: Part Two. Vaniček believes she adds the perfect mix of physicality and emotional intensity necessary for the film. “She brings a rare physicality and emotional intensity to her performances – exactly the kind of raw, visceral presence I was looking for this film.” As Evil Dead Burn gears up to start filming in New Zealand, anticipation continues to build.
