Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live: Where to find stock in your region

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live: Where to find stock in your region

I’m kicking off the daily Switch 2 pre-order watch by keeping an eye out for any opportunities in the US and monitoring current stock that’s available in the UK. If anything new surfaces online, you’ll be the first to know, so stick with us for updates, advice, and more.
And that’s us out for the day! Hopefully you’ve had some luck in your search for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders. I’ll be back on the grind tomorrow, so pop on over if you’ve still to secure your copy of the Ninty console!

Let’s have a quick check in with the latest Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders in the US and UK, shall we? Here’s the situation as it stands now.
In the US, things are still incredibly quiet. I’ve gone through all the major retailers (and some smaller ones too), but nothing’s happening so far as Ninty’s console is concerned. That doesn’t mean we’re sunk for the day, of course, but there hasn’t been any movement as yet.
The UK is more hopeful. While plenty of retailers have run out of consoles (Very and The Game Collection no longer have the solo console or the one with Mario Kart, for instance), plenty of combo packs with accessories and games like Cyberpunk remain available. These are more expensive, of course, so tread carefully.

✅ The Game Collection: In stock

It’s a tricky question; should you grab Switch 2 games at launch, or wait for them to become discounted? The logic of holding your fire is sound. These titles are usually far more expensive than the last generation of Switch games, with the likes of Donkey Kong’s new adventure pushing $70. And Mario Kart? That’s $75. Surely they’ll be reduced after the dust has settled and the novelty’s worn off?
Well, sort of – but I wouldn’t count on it. Nintendo games are notorious for holding their value, and it’s rare to see them getting more than a $10 discount in the first year… if they get any at all. With that in mind, I wouldn’t necessarily pin all your hopes on a major price cut down the line. I’m not saying it won’t happen, of course, just that it’s not something to expect.

Yep, as suspected, The Game Collection UK has had an influx of new consoles. You can currently pick up the console by itself for £359.95, or the Mario Kart bundle for £429.95.
There are still a bunch of combo packs up for grabs with the likes of Split Fiction, Cyberpunk, and numerous accessories, but if we’re being realistic I suspect most people want the solo console or Mario Kart pack most.

The day is moving on, so let’s have a UK update on where stock is currently available. Y’know, as a treat.
Things are pretty similar to this morning, on the whole. Very may have sold its bundle, but the solo console is still available there. Currys has a combo pack with the camera available, and Smyths has click and collect options available. However, the Game Collection has started a virtual queue. Does that mean new consoles are arriving? Very possibly. There’s only one way to find out.

If you’re based in the US, the biggest retailer around still doesn’t have listings for the Switch 2 (though it is offering some games for the console like Cyberpunk 2077). While that may seem surprising, it starts to make more sense when you dig deeper. Word on the street is that Amazon has fallen out with Nintendo so isn’t stocking first-party gear right now, and although we haven’t been able to verify this ourselves, it’d make sense considering how sparse the site’s shelves have been where Switch 2 is concerned.
The same isn’t necessarily true of the UK, but that may be due to third-party sellers flogging the console via their Amazon page.
Best Buy is pulling out all the stops to get folks pre-ordering Switch 2 with them, because you can currently grab a “$20 bonus reward with every $150 spent on select Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games and gear as a Plus or Total member.” Well, perhaps not all the stops – but that’s certainly a tempting offer. Considering the fact that most games are $70 plus, it’s not hard to rack up that number.
Just bear in mind that it doesn’t include the consoles themselves!

Watch out UK friends, the Very bundle with Mario Kart seems to have dropped out of stock. Even though the ‘add to basket’ button is still active, the listing has an ‘unavailable’ tag elsewhere.

Fortunately, the console by itself is still available to pre-order at Very now. Considering how the other one was snapped up, I’d move fast if you want to secure the system.

Hoping to secure yourself a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order? It’s worth heading to the official Nintendo Store and registering (something Nintendo is insisting on rather than the usual pre-orders), because a few lucky so-and-sos have been able to grab a system through this process. Just remember, it’s invite only and you need to have been a Switch Online member for at least a year, with 50 hours of gameplay or more logged on your account.
Good morning, US friends! How are you doing today? We’ve been keeping an eye out for Stateside Switch 2 pre-orders, but it’s bad news as of right now; there’s no stock to be had. That may change throughout the day, so keep an eye on the following:

Which accessories should you get with your shiny new Switch 2? Well, I’m always in favor of grabbing the Pro Controller as a matter of urgency. This is a traditional handset like the ones you’ll find on PS5 or Xbox Series X, and it’s of an incredibly high quality. It’s perfect if you’re hoping to try something like Cyberpunk 2077, and this one also has extra added buttons for any mapping you’d like to do.
A carry-case is always essential too. Even if you aren’t going to travel with the system, being able to keep it your accessories, or games safe when not in use is always recommended.
You can find the latest Switch 2 Pro Controller prices below.

Let’s have a quick check-in, shall we? Here’s where things stand in terms of UK pre-orders right now. Basically, nothing’s changed since first-thing this morning; Very, The Game Collection, and Currys still have units, but Amazon remains out of stock.

✅ Very: In stock
✅ Currys: In stock

✅ Amazon: Stock in and out

Because the Switch 2 is backwards-compatible with Switch games, which ones would you recommend to someone who’s never played the console before? Obviously Breath of the Wild has to be at the top of the list alongside Super Mario Odyssey, but I’d also throw the wonderfully weird Super Mario Wonder in for consideration too. I had a blast playing through it in couch co-op, and it was a similar case for Super Mario 3D World (which got re-released on Switch following the untimely demise of the Wii U, its original home).
Do you have any suggestions? Let them be heard in the comments!

Should you consider any bundles beyond the official Mario Kart one? There are a few flying around at retailers like The Game Collection – and the combo that caught my eye was one including Split Fiction and a Switch 2 Camera for £484.95. OK, I can take or leave the camera. But as we mention in our four and a half-star Split Fiction review, it’s an excellent couch co-op experience so is perfect for the Nintendo console.

Here’s the million-dollar (or £400, actually) question: which version of the Nintendo Switch 2 should you get? Is it better to grab the console by itself for less and tack on games later? Or should you snatch up the bundle with Mario Kart for a little more?
While I can see the value of getting yourself a solo console, particularly if you’ve never owned a Switch before so haven’t played any games (and can pick up OG Switch titles for cheap), I’d recommend the bundle in 99% of cases. That’s because Mario Kart is an ever-reliable crowd pleaser no matter whether you’re playing by yourself, online, or with family and friends on the couch. Plus, it’s significantly less expensive here than buying the game separately. It works out at £35 compared to buying Mario Kart by itself for £74.99. Phew.

So, what’s cracking in the world of Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders? On the UK side of the fence, stock is holding at a handful of smaller (but still reliable) retailers – but old faithfuls like Amazon are drifting in and out of availability. Thus far, Very seems to be the best bet; it has both the console by itself along with the Mario Kart bundle, and it’s a pretty decent store, so I’d recommend that one until Amazon gets its act together.
Just be aware that all these consoles are selling fast, according to retailers like Very. If you’re on the fence, you may not have long before things sell out.

Hey everyone, how’s it going? You ready for another day of pre-order hunting? Good – let’s get cracking.
That’s another day of Switch 2 pre-order hunting down, and it’s time to wrap things up until tomorrow. For now, in the US, options are as limited as they have been. There are a bunch of retailers you can check, but none of them have stock, and Amazon still doesn’t even have the Switch 2 listed.
In the UK, you can grab bundles from the retailers below. Happy hunting, and we’ll be back tomorrow for more!

For those who weren’t awake when I found the news earlier on, here’s a quick public service announcement for US shoppers.
If you’re struggling to find pre-order stock of the Switch 2 online, or before launch day, Best Buy is going to be running a celebratory event, opening select retail stores at midnight on June 5 (or June 4, depending on what way you look at it)
The console, accessories, and games will all be in stock, and you can use Best Buy’s website to check if your local store will be participating.
Search for your local Best Buy

Who had 10 minutes? Sadly, Amazon’s stock didn’t last quite as long this time, and the Mario Kart bundle is now saying “currently unavailable” again. Stay tuned for more updates in case Amazon comes back with more this afternoon. If you’re shopping in the UK though, you do still have options at The Game Collection, Currys, and Very.
As I thought it might, the Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle is back in stock at Amazon UK. Earlier in the day, it lasted just over an hour before all the supply was scooped up, so maybe don’t wait too long to hit the “pre-order now” button.
Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle | £429.99 at Amazon

In the US, things are still pretty quiet on the Switch 2 pre-order front, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get prepared for the Switch 2’s launch in other ways.
If you’re looking to make the most of those high refresh rates the Switch 2 is capable of at certain resolutions, a new display that’s compatible with them might come in handy. For the most part, standard TVs tend to have 60Hz refresh rates, but if you opt for certain TVs or monitors, you can get over 100Hz for a much smoother experience.
Depending on the games you play, high refresh rates can make a massive difference, sometimes even having an “you’ll never go back” effect. Whether it’s a 120Hz display or a new living room screen to enjoy all sorts of media on, you might want to take a look at our lists of the best gaming monitors and the best gaming TVs.
What better time to upgrade your displays than when you have a new console to enjoy them with?

Amazon just isn’t budging with a retail page for the Switch 2 and its Mario Kart bundle in the US.
Luckily, Tomtoc is ready for June 5 with a follow-up to one of our favorite Switch cases. The Slim Carrying Cases this brand makes are second to none, offering great protection while also complementing the slimline design of the console. You can get prepared to take your Switch 2 on the go by grabbing one of these cases right now. There are three colorways to choose from so far, and regardless of which one you go for, you can click a 10% coupon box to get a bit of a discount.
Tomtoc Slim Carrying Case for Switch 2 | $36.99 at Amazon

Even if its stock of regular Switch 2 consoles and the Mario Kart bundle are all out right now, Very’s still packing the bundle I mentioned earlier that gets you a MicroSD card along with the console.
If you’re in need of a bundle that’s as close to MSRP as possible, this might be the best bet right now.
Nintendo Switch 2 + 256GB MicroSD Card | £479 at Very
It was nice while it lasted, but Amazon UK has changed its retail page for the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle back to “Currently unavailable”. If we all cross our fingers that might change before the day is out though.
Amazon was going in and out of stock yesterday, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.

Time to spotlight another bundle from The Game Collection, this time, one that’s really suited to folks who tend to play single-player games. Be warned, though, it’s one of the pricier bundles available right now.
You’ll get the regular Switch 2 (not the Mario Kart bundle like a lot of these retailer offers include), a copy of Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman World of Assassination, and a 256GB MicroSD card to help you install them both and still have room to spare. You also get the Switch 2 camera, because apparently every retailer has to include it.
Switch 2 + Cyberpunk 2077 + Hitman WOA bundle | £609 at The Game Collection
Very’s Nintendo Switch 2 listings have a great bit ‘Unavailable’ label on them at the moment, but the ‘Add to Basket’ button is still alive and well. You might not get very far with it right now, but previous Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order drops at this retailer suggest that the store isn’t quite done yet.
I’ve only ever seen Very keep its listings live when there’s more stock on the way. If it was really done with this wave of stock, those handhelds wouldn’t be on the site at all. Keep checking back regularly on this one.

Want to know each and every game you can play on launch day if you’ve just pre-ordered a Switch 2? We’ve put together a handy guide that I’ll link below that runs you through all of them. From Welcome Tour to Switch 2 Editions of OG Switch games, to brand new games we know are confirmed to drop on June 5, you can read all about it below.
Every Switch 2 launch game
With a bulk of supply hitting the UK shelves yesterday and today, could we see a busier day in the US? Let’s hope so! A current lay of the land is as follows.
Right now, there’s nowhere in the US you can pre-order a Switch 2, short of actually walking or driving to your local participating retailer and asking them very nicely if they have any available. If you haven’t tried logging into your Nintendo account and checking availability straight from the source, maybe give that a go at Nintendo’s own website. Otherwise, here’s a rundown of the retailers and their stock status. We’ll be keeping an eye out throughout the day to tell you about any changes.

Best Buy has a banner on its site that says it’ll be running late-night store openings to celebrate the Switch 2’s official launch. You can check Best Buy’s website to see if your closest store will be participating in this midnight launch.
As well as stock of the console itself, Best Buy will also have accessories and games to grab if you’re willing to make the journey.

To my surprise, Amazon’s UK Switch 2 stock hasn’t immediately run out. I originally spotted the pre-order button at around 12.15, and it’s still going strong. Can it last a full hour without dropping out?
Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle | £429 at Amazon

Are you the type of gamer to download every game available and never delete anything? If you hate storage management, your playtime will be a lot easier with the Switch 2’s increased 256GB of internal space. But you can still increase that further, thanks to speedier MicroSD cards.
Very currently has a deal for UK shoppers that gets them an additional 256GB of storage and the Mario Kart World Bundle, all while remaining under £500.
Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World + Samsung MicroSD Card bundle | £479 at Very
I’ve hit refresh on Amazon’s Switch 2 listing, and lo and behold, you can add it to your basket. If you’re adamant you want to grab from Amazon because of speedy delivery and Prime perks, I’d act quickly before all of the supply is snapped up again.
Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle | £429.99 at Amazon

If you like that Cyberpunk bundle I put a spotlight on earlier, but you’re not really interested in the other parts of the offer, why not just buy Cyberpunk separately? It’s in stock here at Very for £64.99, and since it’s such an expansive RPG and has the Phantom Liberty DLC included, it’ll give you hours of enjoyment while you wait for the next Mario game (which I really hope is an Odyssey sequel, personally).
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition | £64.99 at Very

This bundle at Currys emerged last week, and it’s holding strong for now.
Again, you get the Mario Kart bundle, with a few frills on top. For starters, an additional set of Joy-Con 2 controllers, which will be perfect for getting friends or family involved in those competitive grand prix events. You also get two Joy-Con 2 steering wheels for a more authentic driving experience, and a Switch 2 Camera.
Again, I could do without the camera for a slightly lower cost, but the rest of this bundle fits together really nicely and is perfect for anyone who wants to be able to enjoy Mario Kart in big couch multiplayer sessions.
Switch 2 Mario Kart World Supercharged bundle | £569 at Currys

If you are up for spending a little more and getting a side of accessories with your Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order, I like this one from The Game Collection.
It saves you spending more than £600 but gets you a good balance of games and accessories. To begin with, it’s the Mario Kart World bundle, so you get the Switch 2 and that console-selling launch day title. You’ll also get a copy of Cyberpunk 2077, which, let’s be honest, will occupy plenty of your time while you wait for more brand-new Switch 2 games to come out. You’ll also get a Switch 2 Camera and an SD card for your troubles. Personally, I’d prefer a controller to the camera, but for the price, the rest of the bundle is decent.
Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle with Cyberpunk 2077 | £589.95 at The Game Collection
It isn’t exactly ideal if you’ve been budgeting for the Switch 2’s official price, and all that retailers can offer is a more expensive bundle that throws in extra goodies along with the console. That’s been frustrating me a lot throughout the pre-order process because although I understand that the retailers who have access to limited stock want to make as much money as they can from it (they’re businesses at the end of the day), it isn’t exactly fair to the consumer.
That’s why I’m a big fan of Very this morning, who aren’t trying anything fancy with bundle creation, they’re just stocking the official offers. You can grab a Nintendo Switch 2 on its own for £395.99, or the Mario Kart World bundle for £429.99.

As promised, here are the current sources of stock in the UK. As we saw yesterday, availability is really improving. We can put this down to two factors. Firstly, demand is lessening slightly as more and more people get the pre-order they’ve been looking for. Secondly, it’s likely that we’ve had a resupply from Nintendo to a bunch of these retailers, which could suggest the same thing will happen in the US, although tariffs might impact that.
Regardless, here are the places to go right away if you’re hunting for your Switch 2 ahead of launch day.
We’re back up and running with live updates, I’ll be back in a moment with a roundup of all availability in the UK as we start a fresh day of searching for stock, bundles, accessories, and games.

Over here in the UK, it’s nearing that time we pop the dinner on. With that in mind, my day of sharing Switch 2 pre-orders and news with you has come to an end. But don’t fret, as one of my lovely co-workers will be back first thing tomorrow morning to get the Switch 2-ball rolling once more!

I don’t like leaving you empty-handed, so I’ve gathered all the remaining Switch 2 stock I can find right now.
For you in the US, it’s still super quiet. But do remember that Best Buy is hosting late-night openings on launch day, where you can visit your local store and grab an exclusive Nintendo collectible, and buy games and accessories in person. Which sounds pretty cool, I’m a bit jealous, I can’t lie!

In the UK, there’s a lot of Switch 2 stock going around, and I’ve listed where you can find it all below. As a word of warning, it’s mostly retailer-exclusive bundles that are still available, so you will be looking at paying more than usual. If you want to wait and see if tomorrow (May 14) is just as busy with standard and Mario Kart World bundle stock as today was, I wouldn’t blame you.

Very has sold out of the standard version of the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mario Kart World bundle. However, the hugely popular UK retailer has made up bundles of its own, following in the footsteps of other retailers like TheGameCollection.

My favorite of the bunch has got to be this Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 bundle, which includes the Mario Kart World version of the handheld, and a copy of the upgraded Switch 2 edition of the Breath of the Wild sequel.

When bought separately, you can expect to find the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle for £429. Meanwhile, a copy of Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition is available to pre-order for £64.99 at most retailers, so you aren’t saving any money here. (Other than the savings on Mario Kart World, which comes with choosing that version of the Switch 2 over the standard console alternative.)

That being said, it’s a nice package, especially if you’re buying a Switch 2 as a gift for the special Zelda fan in your life.

Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom | £494 at Very
As we reach the end of the working day in the UK, it shouldn’t come as a shock that the Switch 2 stock is starting to sell out.
First, Amazon UK’s little flickers of stock have gone, one of TheGameCollection’s current bundles has been bought up, and now HMV is sold out of both the Mario Kart World bundle and the standard version of the handheld.

There’s still plenty of Switch 2 stock to go around in the UK. Just expect to pay a bit more than MSRP, as it’s those pricey TheGameCollection bundles that are still around for the time being.

Nintendo Switch 2 Bundles | Starting from £539.95 at TheGameCollection

Best Buy just updated its website to state that a new late-night store opening event will be happening on launch day (June 5) at 12:01 a.m. ET, where they’ll have a “limited inventory of systems, games and accessories” for customers to purchase. If you prefer getting your gaming goodies in person, this sounds worth disrupting your precious sleep for.

If you go along, you’ll also be in with the chance to receive a “Nintendo collectible”, however, they didn’t go into more detail as to what that will actually be.

I have a feeling it might be a coin of some kind. But either way, if that sounds good to you, pop on the Nintendo Switch 2 Best Buy site and see if your local Best Buy is participating in this late-night store opening bananza.

As we get closer to the end of the day (at least for me anyway), it’s looking like the Switch 2 bundles at TheGameCollection are beginning to sell out. At least, the bundle which includes the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle, Sonic X Shadow Generations, a 256GB microSD Express Card, and Switch 2 camera is now all gone.

That’s okay, though, as you can get an almost identical bundle, which just comes with the standard console (as opposed to the Mario Kart World version) right now. That, along with bundles which include copies of Cyberpunk 2077 and Hitman WOA, are still in stock, too!

Nintendo Switch 2 Bundles | Starting from £539.95 at TheGameCollection

When I said stock was busy in the UK this morning, I was underestimating just how flooded with Switch 2 pre-orders UK retailers would be. Right now, Switch 2 consoles are flickering in and out of Amazon UK, but if you keep a tab open on your web browser (either on your desktop or your smartphone) and refresh regularly, you’re bound to see it in stock sooner rather than later.

At Currys, the Switch 2 bundle, which includes the Mario Kart World version of the console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, a set of two Joy-Con wheels, and the Switch 2 camera, all for £569, is still in stock. Meanwhile, HMV has the standard console available, and TheGameCollection is still going strong with its pricier bundles, which include copies of Cyberpunk 2077 and more.

In the US, it’s still super quiet. I only wish the US were having as busy a day with Switch 2 pre-order stock as the UK. However, I didn’t expect today to be this way, so there’s no telling what could happen where the US is concerned!

I’ve been playing Nintendo hardware for over 30 years, so you can bet I got my Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order in the bag as soon as possible. But it wasn’t just the Mario Kart World bundle that I procured as soon as possible, but also a range of accessories – accessories that you too can pre-order right at this very second.

Below is a list of everything I have coming for my Switch 2, and where you can get one for yourself if you fancy:
UK
US
Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector | $39.99 at GameStop
Legend of Zelda Sidon Amiibo | $29.99 at Walmart
Switch 2 GameCube controller | $64.99 at Nintendo US

Hori’s first Nintendo Switch 2 accessory that caught my eye was undoubtedly the officially licensed Piranha Plant Switch 2 camera, which is available for £33.99 at the UK Nintendo online store, but has since sold out on some of the biggest US retailers, from Walmart to Best Buy.

This camera only has a resolution of 480p, but it is absolutely charming as it pays homage to one of the most iconic Super Mario series baddies, the ferocious piranha plant. However, that’s not all Hori has in store for the Switch 2, as right now the official Hori website lists a plethora of accessories, from a Reversible Travel Pouch, HORI Premium Screen Protective Filter, a Dual USB PlayStand, to yet another USB-C Switch 2 camera.

For the time being, the rest of these accessories aren’t up for grabs. But hopefully they’ll drop in time for the Switch 2 launch on June 5, 2025.

With how hard I’ve had to fight to get certain figures for my collection, I’m surprised the brand-new Legend of Zelda amiibo are still in stock.

Surprised, but glad I still have the chance to complete my collection, as do you! For now, I’ve just pre-ordered Sidon, my favorite boy in all his Zora glory, but the three remaining figures are calling my name.

If your Legend of Zelda collection is calling out to be completed, they’re still available at UK and US retailers, and are expected to launch on June 5, 2025.

Stock over at Amazon is continuing to roll out in waves, and it’s frequent enough that I’ve been able to see new handhelds with just a few refreshes several times over the last 15 minutes.
Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle | £429.99 at Amazon
Currys is back in action, with a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle returning to the shelves now. It’s that lofty £569 bumper pack, with an extra set of Joy-Con, some wheels, and a Switch 2 Camera all included with the Mario Kart World bundle.
Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle | Joy-Con 2 | Joy-Con 2 Wheels | Switch 2 Camera | £569 at Currys

When I said today was busy, I meant it. The Mario Kart World bundle has been sporadically in stock on Amazon UK all day today, and now it’s back yet again.

If Amazon UK is your preferred place to shop, I recommend just keeping a tab up of the page and refreshing it throughout the rest of this Tuesday to increase the odds of grabbing that pre-order.

It was bound to happen sooner rather than later, but Curry’s Mario Kart Bundle, which included the Mario Kart World version of the console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, a set of two Joy-Con wheels, and the Switch 2 camera, all for £569, is finally sold out.

I’m impressed it held on for a long as it did, but that might just be because today is pretty busy as far as Switch 2 stock is concerned. If you’re sad you missed out on the Currys bundle, don’t be, as TheGameCollection now has a magnitude of pricey bundles of its own available right now, which include extra goodies like a microSD 256GB Express Card and the official Switch 2 camera.

HMV has now sold out of the Mario Kart World bundle. But if you’re okay picking up the latest Mario Kart game separately in the future, you can still pre-order the standard console, which is better than nothing!

The listing itself states it’s only available for a “limited time” so be like Sonic and get in there quick. As a word of warning, you might be popped into a queue, but from my own testing, it doesn’t take long at all to get through to the HMV site.

Nintendo Switch 2 (Standard console) | £395.99 at HMV (UK)

It’s all kicking off today, and there seems to be no shortage of Switch 2 pre-order stock in the UK.

TheGameCollection is the latest UK retailer to drop more Switch 2 pre-order stock, and you can grab the standard console, or the Mario Kart World bundle in a variety of fancy bundles at the site right now.

Who knew this Tuesday (May 13) would be such a good day for Switch 2 pre-order stock? Not me!

Not that I’m complaining. As a lifelong Ninty nerd, I’m happy knowing there’s more opportunities for those in the UK to get themselves the handheld in time for launch day. Right now, Currys, Very, and even HMV have stock to go around; however, what you can get and where will differ depending on the retailer you choose.
For example, at Very, both the standard console and the Mario Kart World bundle have been dropping sporadically throughout the morning. Meanwhile, Currys has its own bundle which includes the Mario Kart World version of the console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, a set of two Joy-Con wheels, and the Switch 2 camera, while HMV is going strong with the Mario Kart World bundle.

After reaching a “sold out” screen, the HMV site has now popped me on a Switch 2 pre-order queue. So if you still want one from the iconic UK retailer, you still have a chance.

You might have to wait at least 8 minutes, but fortunately, the queue page has a loading bar, and will automatically refresh, so you don’t have to.

HMV just got Nintendo Switch 2 stock, but it sold out almost as soon as it went live.

That’s not ideal for any of you reading this and desperate for a Switch 2 to call your own on launch day. However, I recommend keeping a tab open for HMV on your web browser, as they could just as easily drop again.

There was a split second earlier when the Nintendo Switch 2 was in stock on Amazon UK earlier this morning. But it was so fast that I didn’t even have the time to let you know.

Fortunately, now you can pre-order the Mario Kart World Bundle from Amazon UK at this very second, but be fast if you don’t wanna miss out!

The Currys Switch 2 bundle, which includes the Mario Kart World version of the console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, a set of two Joy-Con wheels, and the Switch 2 camera, all for £569, is still in stock.
Other UK retailers like TheGameCollection have had similar made-up bundles available in the last few weeks, and while I was able to report on them for a good few hours, they weren’t around for too long. I have a sneaking suspicion this will be the same case with this Currys set of Switch 2 goodies, so if you want it for yourself, I’d recommend picking it up sooner so you won’t be left disappointed.

With only weeks to go until the Nintendo Switch 2 launch day, I’m surprised there’s still stock of some of the more popular accessories, like the brand-new Pro Controller. Surprised, but glad!

Right now, you can pre-order the upgraded controller, which features the same comfortable and ergonomic shape and NCF-reading tech as its predecessor, but this time has the new ‘C’ button to activate Game Chat, remappable back GL and GR buttons, and the upgraded HD rumble 2. Not only that, but Nintendo has been rumored to have improved the D-pad this time around, but we’ll have to wait until June 5 to test that theory ourselves.

The Nintendo Switch 2 may have pre-orders available at two big UK retailers, Currys and Very, but in the UK, things aren’t fruitful. It’s dead quiet on the Switch 2 pre-order front across the pond, and so far, I haven’t spotted any retailers dropping any handhelds.

That’s not surprising, especially on the back of the official Switch 2 pre-order invites finally going out last week. But I’ll be keeping a watchful eye across the US all day today, to ensure any of you tuning into this page don’t miss out on securing your new Ninty handheld.

A team behind the scenes at Very is seemingly working very hard at pushing out Switch 2 pre-order units this morning. Both the standard console and the Mario Kart World bundle have been in and out of stock as the minutes tick by, which has been a sight to behold.

Right now, the “unavailable” text is gone, and seemingly both versions of the handheld are good to go. However, this keeps changing, and every moment I check, the stock is going faster than I can keep tabs on. So if you want one yourself, I recommend being quick about it.

Just last night, I got an official email from Nintendo informing me that my “payment will be processed shortly” for two items I have pre-ordered from the online store. For me, that includes not the Switch 2, but the official GameCube controller and one of the brand-new Legend of Zelda amiibo figures.

Both of those items aren’t expected to release until June 5, the same day the console launches. However, with Nintendo preparing my two items for dispatch, it’s very likely it will be doing the same for customers across the UK.

If you have any pre-order items related to the Switch 2 through the official Nintendo online storefront, make sure you have enough funds in your account and that you’re prepared to pay asap.
As of typing, you can grab a Switch 2 pre-order from Currys which includes the Mario Kart World version of the console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, a set of two Joy-Con wheels, and the Switch 2 camera, all for £569.

If bought separately in the UK, the Mario Kart World Switch cost has an MSRP of £429.99, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers retails for £74.99, the steering wheel set is £16.99, and lastly, the Switch 2 camera has an MSRP of £49.99.

All of that adds up to £571.96, so actually, you’re saving a tiny amount of cash. That is, if you happened to want all of those accessories anyway. Like I’ve said before, if you don’t have the means, please don’t feel like you have to purchase one of these retailer-type bundles, as right now, Very has standard stock of the Switch 2 available. However, if cash isn’t an issue, and you were going to grab any number of these extras anyway, you do save around £2.

That’s enough for a few Freddo chocolates, probably.

I didn’t expect this morning to be this busy, to be honest, but I’m glad!

The more opportunities to get a Switch 2 in your hands the better, and right now Very is back with more stock of the standard console.

Get it while it’s hot!

I can’t believe it either!

The big Nintendo Direct held on April 2 feels like only yesterday. But in 23 days, not only will the Nintendo Switch 2 finally be released, but so will a ton of brand-new games and first-party accessories. Fortunately for you, that still leaves plenty of time to pre-order both for your new handheld, that is, if you haven’t got them all already.

You snooze, you lose! Or so they say. That Very stock went by pretty fast.

Weirdly, both listing for the standard console and the Mario Kart World bundle are still there, they’re just listed as “unavailable” and won’t let you add either to your basket. (Trust me, I’ve tried.)

If you have extra cash to spare, at least the Currys bundle is still going strong. Just don’t feel like you have to resort to a more expensive Switch 2 pre-order with a lot of extras you might not use, as as we’re clearly seeing today, there’s still plenty standard console Switch 2 stock dropping when you least expect it.

Good morning! And what a good morning, right now if you’re in the UK there’s two big retailers with Switch 2 pre-order stock up for grabs.

A Switch 2 bundle is still going strong at Currys, which includes the Mario Kart World version of the console, an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, a set of two Joy-Con wheels, and the Switch 2 camera, all for £569.

If you don’t want all of those pricey extras, right now Very has stock with just the standard handheld, and the Mario Kart World bundle. The latter says its “unavailable” but I’m still able to add it to my Very basket, so it’s worth trying if that’s the version you want to go for!

Best Buy has announced that most of its stores will have additional inventory for release day purchases at midnight on June 5, but if you’ve already pre-ordered it’s worth remembering you can still queue up at grab your handheld the second it’s officially released. Be sure to check which store you pre-ordered to in your account, though.

US tariffs have already played havoc with the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, pushing the initial pre-order date back two weeks. For now, the price has remained unchanged – but President Shuntaro Furukawa has recently stated that “[Nintendo] would like to consider what price adjustments we should make” should the situation evolve further (Yahoo Finance).
Right now, the console is $449.99 by itself, with a $499.99 Mario Kart World bundle also up for grabs. That could well change in the future – Microsoft has massively increased the price on its Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in the last couple of weeks, and Sony has upped the cost of its PS5 in a number of territories this year as well.
ShopTo has finally run out of stock on that Nintendo Switch 2 bundle, but considering this one’s been flashing on and off over the course of the last few days I wouldn’t give up just yet. In my experience, it’s likely we’ll see this offer return before too long.
For now, it’s just Currys with Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders currently on the shelves in the UK.

That’s an insane amount of time for a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order to be live on the shelves. This bundle might just be the longest-lasting stock I’ve seen so far.
You can still grab the Nintendo Switch 2 with Street Fighter 6, a Pro Controller, and a camera for £569 at Currys – a more expensive bundle options, yes, but also one of the few available at RRP right now.

Donkey Kong Bananza is looking like the most popular Nintendo Switch 2 game pre-order so far, and with good reason. The 3D action platformer scratches that itch we’ve all had since Mario Odyssey, and it doesn’t come bundled in with the handheld itself (unlike Mario Kart Tour). The smashathon is available at a range of retailers in both the US and UK right now, ahead of its July 17 release date.

The official Switch 2 case comes in at $39.99 / £20.99, but TomToc produces some of the best Nintendo Switch cases on the market and is already undercutting Ninty in price in the US.
The TomToc Slim Carrying Case for Nintendo Switch 2 starts at $36.99, but is currently 10% off at Amazon. leaving us with a $33.29 sales price. I’m a big fan of these cases, from their super soft internal fabric to their slimline design. It’s a skinny clamshell form factor with extra support for your thumbsticks and buttons that keeps everything protected without bulking out your bag.
The Slim is also available in the UK, with the same 10% voucher, but that brings it to the same price as the official Ninty model.

UK: £22.99 £20.69 at Amazon

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is still available to pre-order in both the US and UK. While some retailers in the former region have run out of stock (looking at you Walmart), Best Buy still has the gamepad live on the shelves.
The new controller features additional back buttons to the rear, as well as a slick matte-finish redesign.

Nintendo recently opened up its store front to everyone in the UK, invite or not. You’ll find both the Nintendo Switch 2 and its Mario Kart World bundle listed on the My Nintendo Store right now, though stock remains unavailable for both. Still, it’s always good to have more options.

John Lewis, The Game Collection, Currys, and ShopTo all launched new Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders towards the end of last week, after a fairly quiet few weeks. That could mean more handhelds have arrived on British shores, in which case I’d recommend keeping a close eye on Very and Argos this week.
Both of these retailers went hard on the first wave of stock, running pre-orders for days at a time with a massive supply in their inventories. If we see a fraction of that initial allocation return for round two we’ll be laughing.
I see it time and time again, once retailer actually start taking payments and shipping their pre-orders, a lot of stock-hunters pull out. Whether they bought instinctively when the pressure was on, or their funds simply don’t cover the payment, there are generally a considerable number of consoles returned to the shelves a few days before launch.
This can be a great way to secure yourself a late-stage Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order. I’d recommend keeping a close eye on Walmart and Best Buy towards the end of the month.

Considering Cyberpunk 2077 gave the Xbox Series X so much grief on release, it’s impressive to see it running on the Switch 2. The Ultimate Edition is available for pre-order ahead of its June 5 release date, coming in at $69 in the US and £64.99 in the UK.

Third party accessory brands are starting to float their gadgets onto Amazon’s shelves, and screen protectors are among the first out the gate. I’ve relied on AmFilm and Spigen screen protectors for my Nintendo Switch OLED in the last few years, and the former has a sub-$10 option up for grabs right now. It ships well ahead of that June 5 launch date as well, so you can start getting prepared ahead of time.

I just tried to check on the status of that Nintendo Switch 2 bundle at Currys and was met with a blank page. I’ve hunted around and it is still available, but you might need to head back to the homepage and manually search Switch 2. Using the ‘Pre-order Nintendo Switch 2′ button doesn’t display the bundle that’s actually in stock.
That Nintendo Switch 2 + Stealth Premium Travel Kit + Camera bundle is once again up on ShopTo’s shelves, offering the hardware-heavy package for £465.85. This has been on and off the shelves for a few weeks now, but it only recently ran out of stock over the weekend.

If you’ve been watching Walmart’s Nintendo Switch 2 listing pages as closely as I have, you’ll notice that the language has been changing slightly fairly frequently. The store previously left the door open for more pre-orders in its wording, but things are looking a little more strict now.
The site now states “Coming soon! Release date: 06/05/2025” on its Switch 2 page, leaning more heavily on actual launch stock than it has in previous messages.
The week’s off to a good start in the UK, with Currys’ supplies holding out. If you’re after a pre-order as soon as possible that’s where I’d recommend heading first. However, if you don’t want to spend £500+ on a bundle there are other stores I’d keep an eye on.
The first is Nintendo, which was offering new handhelds towards the tail end of last week and the second is Amazon. I’ve seen shadow drops here multiple times a day over the last few weeks, though you do have to be in the right place at the right time.
Over in the US, Newegg is always worthy of your attention. The PC-focused store has had the Nintendo Switch 2 listed from the start but has never dropped stock. The most recent retailer to drop new stock, however, is Nintendo itself. Your first job is to check your account details in the My Nintendo Store – even if you didn’t receive an email. I’ve seen a number of successful pre-orders completed in this way.

Currys still has Nintendo Switch 2 stock, three days after first launching bundles on its website. While other packages have been run off the shelves, this Pro Controller / Camera / Street Fighter 6 package is still available for £569. The retailer was previously claiming to only be offering in-store Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, but changed its tune last week. Now you can add this bundle straight to your basked for release day delivery.
Nintendo Switch 2 | Street Fighter 6 | Switch 2 Pro Controller | Switch 2 Camera | £569 at Currys

Best Buy has just updated its site to state that “most” of its stores will have midnight stock ready for release on launch day. That eases the pre-order pressure a little, and gives us all a good old fashioned curb line to look forward to. Not only that, but the site also states there are free collectibles up for grabs as well.
