Even those who collaborate with the visionary Hideo Kojima often find themselves puzzled by the complexities of his mind. This includes Death Stranding 2 and The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus.

Known for portraying the pivotal character Sam Porter Bridges, Reedus has been candid about his bewilderment with the unusual elements of the original Death Stranding. From bridge babies to eerie adversaries emerging from black sludge, the game’s vast world raises many questions that time has not resolved for Reedus.

In a chat with IGN, Reedus remarked, “When it comes to working with Hideo Kojima and figuring out his thought process, I don’t think anyone truly can – he constantly pushes creative boundaries.” Despite the mystery surrounding Kojima, Reedus mentioned having a better understanding of the sequel’s story.

According to Reedus, “The narrative of the sequel is more coherent. It has more action and a clear objective. It’s always an adventure to work on projects like these, both thrilling and surreal.”

Additionally, when questioned about taking his role as Sam into the live-action adaptation planned by A24, Reedus expressed interest: “If that opportunity came up, I’d definitely consider it,” though he currently acknowledges, “I’m not sure what the status of that project is.”

Kojima himself has mused over the finite nature of his creative journey, speculating he might only have “10 years” left to contribute new ideas. As a form of legacy, he has entrusted his assistant with “a USB stick containing all my ideas,” which he whimsically refers to as his “will.” For more stories and insights, you can explore community discussions and other fascinating details here.
