An in-game communication states: “The President of Super Earth has been slain by the Illuminate during the siege of Prosperity City.” Initially, it erroneously mentioned the “fall of Prosperity City,” sparking speculation that game master Joel might be anticipating the city’s fall.
Prosperity, the heart of Super Earth, is situated in Sweden, aligning with the location of developer Arrowhead. This appeared to be the logical choice for a final showdown, yet it seems the devout affection for Equality-on-Sea was underestimated by many.
Residing in China, a unified effort by Chinese players ensures Equality’s better condition compared to Prosperity, potentially positioning it as humanity’s last stronghold. Nonetheless, the game faces review-bombing due to Equality not being entirely secured.
Within the Helldivers 2 subreddit, individuals are sharing messages filled with sympathy and sorrow. “Nooooo I voted for him (well, my bot voted for him but), Mister President whyyyyy?” laments one heartbroken citizen.
