The eagerly anticipated Persona 4 Revival is set for release sometime after April 1, 2026. This news has sent JRPG enthusiasts into a frenzy, speculating that Persona 6 might not launch until well after this remake.

Sega confirmed in their latest management presentation, referenced by Wario64, that both Persona 4 Revival and Like a Dragon studio RGG’s action game Stranger Than Heaven are slated to debut in or beyond the fiscal year ending March 2027, which begins on April 1, 2026.

Sega unveiled the Persona 4 remake at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, leading some fans to hope for an earlier release. However, the new timeline has sparked pessimism about when Persona 6 will arrive. Sega hasn’t officially announced the game, which typically signals a years-long wait, but that hasn’t quelled the flood of comments online.

Fans express their dismay with statements like, “Persona 6 will come out after I’m dead on PS9” and “we never getting persona 6 dawg.” Such reactions underscore the uncertainty surrounding Persona 6’s release, especially given Sony’s plans to launch “four mainstay titles and more” by the fiscal year’s end in March 2027. Although rumored titles exclude Persona 6, Sega might surprise its audience.

Until then, fans might want to explore other renowned JRPGs to pass the time. Our curated list of the best JRPGs ever made offers exciting alternatives while waiting for these anticipated releases.
