Despite starring in some of the biggest blockbusters ever, Tom Holland believes his latest role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is a game-changer. In an interview with GQ, where he discussed the film featuring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson, Holland hinted that audiences are in for a surprise.

“It was amazing. The job of a lifetime, without a doubt. The best experience I’ve had on the film set,” Holland shared. “Incredible. It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”

It’s no shock Holland is enthusiastic about Nolan’s next big film. The Odyssey, one of the most ancient narratives, reimagines the epic journey of Odysseus (Damon) returning home after a prolonged war, while his son, Telemachus (Holland), waits with his mother, Penelope. The tale is renowned for introducing literature’s first hero, inviting Holland to work alongside his idols.

Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway have always been heroes of mine,” Holland said. “To share scenes, learn, and become friends with them was the best job I could have ever asked for.” Holland expressed immense gratitude to Nolan, saying, “I came to work every day with a real sense of purpose.”

Despite the 2,700-year-old story, secrecy surrounds Nolan’s project. Confirmed cast members include Charlize Theron as Circe, the witch-goddess, adding intrigue and potential adventures in the film.

Variety highlights Holland’s admiration for Nolan’s team, “Working with Chris and Emma was absolutely fantastic. There’s a reason they’re the best,” Holland confided. “To collaborate with a master and learn directly was the best experience I’ve had.”

The star-studded film gathers a remarkable lineup. Joining Holland, Damon, Hathaway, Pattinson, and Theron are Mia Goth, Zendaya, Elliot Page, Lupita Nyong’o, among others. Holland will also reunite with Jon Bernthal, his future co-star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, seen in the teaser trailer for The Odyssey released recently.
