Star Wars Zero Company, an eagerly anticipated single-player turn-based tactics game set in the iconic galaxy far, far away, was officially revealed during a panel at the Star Wars Celebration 2025. This collaboration between Lucasfilm Games, Respawn (known for titles like Titanfall, Star Wars Jedi, and Apex Legends), and Bit Reactor (a newcomer formed by veterans from Firaxis), promises a thrilling addition to the Star Wars gaming universe, set to arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.

Initially teased with tantalizing key art, the game’s existence was confirmed to take place during the tumultuous Clone Wars period of the Star Wars saga. Players can brace themselves for an epic showdown involving droids, potential Jedi encounters, and a splash of humor reminiscent of the beloved prequels.

The narrative centers around a former Republic officer named Hawks, who leads a ragtag team of mercenaries from various corners of the galaxy. Together, they must tackle a looming threat that could wreak havoc across the universe if not stopped, as mentioned in an official press statement.

While the nature of this cosmic peril remains a mystery, it’s the diverse ensemble of characters in Zero Company that truly ignites excitement. Players can fully customize the appearance and class of their leader, while also tailoring recruited operatives with unique loadouts, abilities, and archetypes. These include timeless favorites like Clone Troopers, astromechs, and rare Jedi warriors who may join your cause.

The game intriguingly offers deeper exploration into the dynamics between party members than most tactical games, potentially drawing inspiration from revered series such as Fire Emblem or Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

Between missions, players can return to their base to engage with a cast of original Star Wars characters. On the battlefield, squadmates can cultivate bonds, unlocking potent combat synergies akin to Fire Emblem’s relationship mechanics when paired up.

Additionally, at the Star Wars Celebration 2025, Lucasfilm also announced a new animated Star Wars series dedicated solely to the enigmatic Darth Maul.
