Having recently wrapped up their roles as brothers-in-arms in Warfare, actors Will Poulter and Kit Connor are set to tackle a new adventure as siblings in a drastically different conflict. As reported by Deadline, the duo will star in HanWay Films’ Rapture, a groundbreaking film marking the directorial debut of playwright Jordan Tannahill. The story transcends into the haunting realm of medieval horror, reminiscent of a nightmarish landscape.
The year is 1348. Rapture immerses us into the lives of a secluded band of monks whose unwavering faith is tested by the arrival of a stranger bearing dreadful tidings. A horrific plague sweeps the land, transforming the afflicted into ravenous undead, and is relentless in approaching the tranquil Yorkshire sanctuary. As the undead threaten their existence, these men of tranquility must choose whether to aid the needy or dispatch them to their maker by any necessary means.
This ambitious production is geared to commence in Hungary later this year. Gabrielle Stewart, CEO of HanWay Films, expressed admiration for the director’s audacious narrative, stating, “We have all been blown away by the vision Jordan has for Rapture. It is rare to have such an atmospheric and terrifying zombie horror film that inhabits such an authentic historical world, with complex characters grappling with the biggest moral dilemmas. It is no wonder he has already attracted such great casting in Will, Kit, and Manu with more to come, backed by top-tier producers.”
