The developer Semiwork has just unveiled what it declares as “the MOST POWERFUL WEAPON” featured in its co-op horror extraction game, REPO. This impressive artillery seems destined to transform camaraderie into shattered remains. Learn more about Semiwork’s innovations here.
According to dev Pontus Sundström, “This thing will turn your cart“—a crucial package carrier you utilize for extracting items and completing REPO’s tasks—”into a battle tank.” The unveiling of the Cart Cannon introduces a new dynamic to the game. In a demonstration, a small robot player places the “cart-powered” rocket launcher within the cart, making it shift precariously as the carrier moves. To utilize it, simply hop into the cart and a teammate retains navigational control. “Now we’re officially a tank,” exclaims the robotic character, proceeding to transform various objects into smoky explosions.
The initial version of this artillery blast contrasts with a variant firing a long-range, serpentine laser beam that swiftly annihilates several targets but also risks harming your comrades without caution. Players learn this peril firsthand when a misfire from the Cannon causes Sundström, the cart driver, to disintegrate into tiny fragments.
Sundström optimistically notes, “We hope that this weapon, paired with Semiwork’s rebalance of REPO’s health mechanics, will enhance your semi-bot team’s performance.” However, anticipate needing team-building exercises once the REPO mission concludes.
