A prime example of this is Mads Mikkelsen, who, despite delivering an excellent performance as Kaecilius in Doctor Strange, might forever be a missed opportunity for roles like Magneto or Doctor Doom.
Unfortunately, Mikkelsen isn’t alone in this plight. Fans on Reddit have recently expressed their discontent about other actors whose talents were never fully showcased by the MCU. For instance, a Redditor mentioned Walton Goggins in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Kit Harington in Eternals, where he portrayed the potential Black Knight, Dane Whitman.
Other mentions include Bill Skarsgård, who was largely forgotten in his role as Kro, as well as Katy M. O’Brien and William Jackson Harper in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. One optimist speculated that there might still be hope, noting, “I think Bill Skarsgard gets a pass here. Marvel could absolutely use him again, and a lot of people honestly don’t even know that was him. I also have faith that we haven’t seen the last of Goggins.”
A fan also voiced support for Goggins’ return as the black market dealer, Sonny Burch, lamenting, “It’s a damn shame that we haven’t seen Goggins’ character return yet. And it’s a bigger shame that we haven’t seen Sam Rockwell return either. Such a waste.”
