John Cena expressed his excitement about the return of the once-shelved Coyote vs. Acme, declaring that everyone involved is thrilled to see the project come to life. ‘Experiencing setbacks is challenging,’ Cena mentioned to Collider. ‘While the ultimate decisions aren’t mine, I appreciate that discussions led to the movie being shown.’
Coyote vs. Acme, featuring Cena and Will Forte, mixes live-action with animation, following Wile E. Coyote and his attorney, played by Forte, as they challenge the Acme corporation, with Cena playing the CEO. Directed by Dave Green and scripted by Samy Burch from a tale by Burch, Jeremy Slater, and James Gunn, the film boasts stars like Lana Condor and Eric Bauza.
Though completed with a budget of $72 million, Warner Bros. initially shelved the project for a $30 million tax benefit. The restriction prevented it from being offered to other studios. This year, Ketchup Entertainment and Warner Bros. struck a deal granting rights for distribution, hinting at an upcoming theatrical release. Fans, including myself, are eagerly awaiting to secure their tickets.
Cena continued, ‘Our aim is to entertain, and I’m hopeful that Coyote vs. Acme finds a wider audience.’ Having recently viewed the movie, he shared, ‘It’s pure enjoyment, and I’m relieved it’s out of the shadows.’ Although the release date is still pending, you can explore the most thrilling upcoming films here as we await more details.
