After a year of anticipation and weeks of hints, the Helldivers 2 review bomb cape is finally here, and it’s as glorious as fans hoped.

Helldivers 2 faced a barrage of negative reviews last year when Sony controversially mandated that PC players connect their PSN account to Steam to continue playing the space-faring third-person shooter. Though the company later reversed this decision, the game was removed from Steam in countries where PSN services were not available.

Recently, Helldivers 2 became accessible again in most of those regions, prompting the community to transform their negative reviews into positive experiences. The memorable review graph has now been immortalized on a commemorative cape.

“In honor of their unquestioning commitment to the defense of Managed Democracy, the Helldivers have been awarded a commemorative cape,” tweeted the official Helldivers 2 Twitter account. Players will find this cape added to their armory automatically, with a prompt to equip it upon login.

The cape design mirrors the iconic review graph, featuring several elongated, red lines cascading down the fabric. Accentuating these red streaks, a horizontal blue line, along with shorter vertical lines across the shoulders, illustrates the stark contrast between positive and negative feedback.

Across Twitter, fellow Helldivers are sharing patriotic GIFs and enthusiastic messages, clearly thrilled with the new addition. On Reddit, admiration for the cape is equally evident, with one fan asserting, “Drip: Immaculate. Liberty: Secured. Democracy: Managed.”

Another gamer appreciated the developers’ timing, “And good on them for waiting until Sony actually reopened the game to all affected countries, rather than last year’s half-celebration.” The decision to delay the cape’s release until more players had access seems to have been well-received.
