There’s a notable transition unfolding in the upcoming season of Reacher. Just weeks after Jay Baruchel was introduced as the newest addition to the series, he’s had to step away due to personal reasons. His departure creates space for Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, who is renowned for his recent role in the acclaimed Barry. In Barry, he skillfully portrayed Chris Lucado, a former war buddy entangled in intriguing storylines with Bill Hader‘s character.
This time, Marquette is set to face new challenges, but with the formidable Alan Ritchson as the formidable ex-military policeman on his side. The new season draws its narrative from Lee Child’s thirteenth book in the series, Gone Tomorrow. The story kicks off when Reacher’s quiet 2 am subway ride is suddenly disturbed by a woman who might be a suicide bomber. With Reacher’s knack for getting entangled in complex situations, he soon finds himself on a perilous mission against Russian gangsters and elusive government operatives.
Marquette takes on the role of a New Jersey cop, partnering with Reacher while maintaining a mysterious connection to the enigmatic woman on the train. He will share the spotlight with Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Corrigan, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, and Kathleen Robertson.
Production is already in progress (Marquette joined the set just days after securing the role), but in the meantime, fans can look forward to the adventures of Reacher’s cereal-devouring confidante, Neagley (Maria Sten), in a spin-off series expected in 2026. This expansion will further build the world of Reacher, ensuring that henchmen everywhere shiver in their turtlenecks.
