Krysten Ritter is venturing into new territory with her role in Dexter: Resurrection. While she has played vigilantes before, her character here, Lady Vengeance, offers a fresh and intriguing twist.
When asked about comparing Lady Vengeance to her iconic portrayal of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Ritter’s response is definitive: “Definitely not. Very different.” She explains to GamesRadar+, “Lady Vengeance has all the elements I love – it’s like a blend of Jessica Jones, The Junkies, and some comedy. It’s an opportunity to dive into a character that’s dark, playful, and glamorous.”
In the series, Ritter portrays Mia Lapierre, also known as Lady Vengeance, a serial killer targeting sexual predators. Although her kill count stands at three, it was enough to earn her notoriety and the title bestowed by the media.
On the surface, one might think Jessica and Mia share similarities, but Ritter hints at hidden depths to Mia that audiences have yet to discover. And should things go awry, she wouldn’t be Dexter’s first female victim.
Adding to the excitement, Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, along with Frank Castle, promising a mini Defenders reunion.
