Exciting news for anime fans: the eagerly anticipated Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc finally has a release date! This eagerly awaited film is part of the impressive lineup of anime announcements for 2025. The sequel to the first season of Chainsaw Man will make its debut in Japanese cinemas on September 19. For international audiences, a Western release date has not been confirmed yet. The announcement was made during a panel at this year’s AnimeJapan event.
What adventures await in the Reze Arc? This film continues the canonical storyline of Chainsaw Man instead of leading into a second season. The synopsis teases: “Denji became Chainsaw Man, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji seeks shelter from the rain where he encounters Reze, a girl working in a café.”
Fans familiar with the manga will recognize that this movie covers the dramatic Bomb Girl arc (chapters 40-52), a pivotal part of the series’ first segment, known as the Public Safety Saga. Prepare for explosive developments!
