Assassin’s Creed Shadows is taking the gaming world by storm, surpassing the performance of its RPG counterparts. In under 24 hours, this thrilling journey through Feudal Japan captivated over a million players, and as we enter the first weekend, the accolades keep pouring in. According to Ubisoft, more than two million people have delved into Assassin’s Creed Shadows, even though it has only been two days since its release.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone,” the publisher shared in a recent social media post. “Assassin’s Creed Shadows has now surpassed the launches of AC Origins and Odyssey. Thank you for joining the journey in Feudal Japan!”
While it remains uncertain if Shadows has outsold Origins and Odyssey’s initial sales or if it’s simply attracted more players within 48 hours, it is certainly shaping up to be a major success. The only game it seems to lag behind is Valhalla, still holding the record as the largest in the series due to the new next-gen consoles’ buzz.
However, Shadows aims to break another series record. Currently, over 58,000 players are enjoying Assassin’s Creed Shadows simultaneously on Steam, making it the second-highest player peak in the franchise’s history and closing in on AC Odyssey in the record books.
