Ubisoft‘s much-anticipated release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, hit the gaming world today, dazzling players and breaking records right out of the gate on Steam. It’s not just the game’s high praise and ‘Very Positive’ reviews that are striking—it’s the avalanche of players diving into this fresh action RPG.
In a staggering display, Shadows reached its all-time peak mere hours after debuting, amassing an impressive 28,620 players. Such a feat eclipsed past entries in the franchise, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which logged a peak of just 15,431 players back in December 2022. This marks a substantial margin of 13,189 more players on its first day. Discover more on Steam.
Yet, the climb doesn’t end there. With Assassin’s Creed Mirage peaking at 7,837 users, Shadows exceeded it by 20,783 players. Despite these triumphs, Shadows faces a steep journey before it outpaces titans like Odyssey and Origins. Visit Ubisoft’s Official Site for more details.
Assassin’s Creed Origins retains a peak of 41,541 players, with Odyssey’s towering record of 61,984 standing as a goalpost—33,364 ahead of Shadows’ current max. That said, the fresh installment hasn’t conceded the race yet, as it just arrived on the scene. As stated in our Assassin’s Creed Shadows review, this title “thrives on boldness” and may have surprises up its sleeve.
